Hi Mamas! I’m Evelyn Owens. I am a wife to James, my sweet husband , a mother of five wonderful children, and a homeschooling parent for the past 10 years. When my husband told me a decade ago to embark on this incredible journey of teaching my children at home, I was totally against it. I prayed and cried many times!

I remember as I was on my way to work – I was on the bus, sobbing, I was asking God to change me, to change my heart because I didn’t want to homeschool. I remember saying, “Lord, if you want me to do this, I have to give up this job, and it will be financially hard for us and then I don’t know how to do it, I do not know anyone doing it and then I don’t really want to do it. You need to change me, change my heart Lord, please help me!” I remember this emotion, this burden was so strong in my heart and I just gave all these worries to the Lord and asked Him to take it, ALL of it! There were many reasons why I was hesitant to homeschool. But here I am, deeply thankful for the blessings, challenges, and growth that homeschooling has brought to our family.

Homeschooling isn’t just about academics—it’s about cultivating a home where faith, family, and learning thrive together. Over the years, I’ve navigated the ups and downs of lesson plans, curriculum choices, and managing a bustling household, all while seeking to honor God in everything we do. It’s been a journey of prayer, patience, and perseverance, and through it all, I’ve discovered the beauty of this calling.

With God’s guidance, the support of a loving community, and your unique strengths as a parent, you can create an enriching, Christ-centered education for your children.

Be encouraged!

With Love and Encouragement,

Evelyn Owens
